San Diego Youth Cultural Ambassador Campus Showcases Taiwan’s Charm

On October 20, the Design39 Campus in San Diego hosted a cultural festival, where youth cultural ambassadors from the San Diego chapter of the Overseas Youth Cultural Ambassador Association (FASCA-SD) showcased the vibrant and rich culture of Taiwan. This event celebrated multiculturalism, and FASCA-SD played a vital role as the ambassador of Taiwanese culture.

At the booth set up by Taiwanese parents from the Design39 Campus, attendees enjoyed a variety of famous Taiwanese snacks and bubble tea, which quickly drew attention from many participants. In addition to the delicious food, FASCA-SD also featured traditional Taiwanese children’s games, providing visitors with an engaging experience. Both adults and children eagerly participated in activities like diabolo, shuttlecock kicking, and marble games, immersing themselves in the fun of Taiwanese childhood pastimes.

Consultant Liu Jingjuan remarked that the cultural festival offered an excellent opportunity for the FASCA-SD youth cultural ambassadors to engage in cultural exchange. Through hands-on activities like the diabolos and shuttlecock, they introduced the local community to Taiwanese culture in a fun and meaningful way. It was heartwarming to see the youth ambassadors not only learning about their heritage but also enthusiastically sharing it with others.

FASCA youth cultural ambassadors are on a mission of cultural diplomacy, using leadership and service to promote Taiwan’s rich traditions and culture while strengthening connections between the Taiwanese and American communities. By facilitating these interactive and enjoyable activities, FASCA successfully fostered an environment of learning and cultural sharing, embodying the core values of leadership and service while leaving a lasting impression on participants and igniting their appreciation for and curiosity about Taiwanese culture.
