Lin Xinan, the former Party Secretary and Director of the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Puning City, Guangdong Province, was -double fired-

On October 23, China News Service reported via the “Qingfeng Jieyang” WeChat account that, with the approval of the Puning Municipal Committee in Guangdong Province, the Puning Discipline Inspection and Supervision Commission has launched an investigation into serious disciplinary violations by Lin Xinan, the former Party Secretary and Director of the Puning Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau.

The investigation revealed that Lin Xinan lost his ideals and beliefs, strayed from his original mission, and disregarded the spirit of the Party’s eight-point regulation. He was found to have illegally accepted gifts and money. In violation of organizational principles, he engaged in acts to gain personal benefits related to personnel affairs. His greed led him to exploit his position for personal gain, securing profits for others in matters such as project payment approvals, construction permits, and safety inspections, while also accepting large sums of illicit money multiple times. Additionally, he provided gifts to state officials to seek improper benefits.

Lin’s actions constituted serious violations of the Party’s organizational discipline and integrity standards. They are classified as significant breaches of duty, and he is suspected of bribery and corruption. Notably, his misconduct continued unabated even after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party, indicating a serious nature and detrimental impact that warrants strict accountability.

As a result, following discussions during the Puning Discipline Inspection Commission’s Standing Committee meeting and subsequent approval from the Puning Municipal Committee, it was decided that Lin Xinan would be expelled from the Party and removed from public office. His ill-gotten gains will be seized, and his case will be forwarded to the prosecution authorities for legal review and prosecution, along with the relevant assets involved.
