On October 27th, a truck collided with a bus stop near the Mossad headquarters in Glilot, north of Tel Aviv, injuring at least 35 people. Reports from Sky News indicate that the truck driver was shot dead by authorities at the scene.
A spokesperson for the Israeli police mentioned that preliminary investigations suggest the truck struck passengers waiting at the bus stop, as well as the parked buses nearby. The police have confirmed the driver’s death in the incident.
Investigators are currently examining the accident site, but it is still unclear whether the authorities will classify the incident as a terrorist attack or a traffic accident. Meanwhile, medical personnel are on-site attending to the injured.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service reported that they received a notification regarding a “mass casualty event.” Among the injured, at least six individuals were reported to be in serious condition.
