Hainan Free Trade Port’s first cross-border e-commerce export -air-to-air transfer- customs transfer business completed
On October 22nd, a shipment of cross-border e-commerce goods took off from Haikou Meilan International Airport on Southern Airlines Logistics flight CZ6873. The flight successfully made a stopover in Guangzhou before heading to Tokyo Haneda International Airport in Japan.
A representative from the Haikou Customs announced on October 23rd that this event marks the successful completion of Hainan Free Trade Port’s first cross-border e-commerce export “air-to-air” transfer business. This achievement further broadens the export channels for Hainan’s cross-border e-commerce enterprises.
The batch of cross-border e-commerce exports consisted mainly of clothing and carpets, totaling 41 pieces and weighing 605 kilograms. The goods were transported to the international cargo station at Haikou Meilan Airport using air-to-air transit. After completing customs declaration and inspection in the storage area, they were airlifted to Guangzhou for successful overseas export.
To enhance the efficiency of customs clearance for cross-border e-commerce exports, Haikou Customs has been exploring new regulatory models for the export transfer process. The customs authorities are tailoring “one company, one policy” support plans based on specific enterprise needs. This includes experimenting with a more streamlined export clearance process, enabling a “single declaration to national customs” for cross-border e-commerce shipments originating from Haikou Meilan International Airport, which takes full advantage of the benefits offered by the Hainan Free Trade Port policies.
A representative from Haikou Customs stated that they will leverage the connectivity of Meilan Airport as a gateway to the Pacific and Indian Oceans. They aim to continuously enhance the international freight route network and promote the high-quality development of Hainan’s aviation logistics industry.
