During the event, three exciting raffles were held, featuring a variety of impressive prizes. At the Bay Area Mama Classroom booth, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners offered free consultations and acupuncture treatments, drawing a steady stream of curious participants. Attendee Ni Hangsheng expressed his gratitude after a consultation, noting that Dr. CK Huang accurately identified long-standing health issues simply by feeling his pulse. He was so impressed that he scheduled a follow-up appointment for the next week, saying, “Thanks to the World Journal for this opportunity to connect with a great doctor.”
Kang Bao Foods presented a selection of healthy, shelf-stable, sugar-free products tailored for older adults, including black sesame powder, almond flour, and grass jelly essence. Attendees could sample these items on-site, and staff were available to explain their nutritional benefits, such as combining black sesame and almond powder to enhance calcium intake when mixed with yogurt.
ShineCo, a specialist in far infrared products, showcased various innovative items, including their flagship infrared foot bath, which participants were able to test right at the booth. CBC insurance broker Deng Guixiang remarked that each booth effectively catered to the diverse needs of the elderly, helping them access valuable information while fostering social interactions that promote warmth and care, contributing to their sense of purpose.
Furthermore, the “Voice of Seniors” singing competition showcased performances from winners including Joanna Lee, Xin Gantian, the Wannianqing Art Troupe, Autumn Melody, and the Golden Autumn Mixed Choir. Their beautiful melodies captivated the audience, reflecting the vibrant lives of the senior community.
