CBA regular season- Xinjiang Men’s Basketball Team beats Beikong Men’s Basketball Team at home for three consecutive victories

On the evening of October 17th, the Xinjiang Yili team claimed a thrilling victory over the Beijing Enterprises team in the third round of the 2024-2025 CBA regular season, finishing the game at 114-111 and securing their third consecutive win at home.

The game started with an explosive performance from Xinjiang, as Qi Lin scored a quick eight points through free throws and drives. Following a successful shot from Li Yanzhe, Xinjiang extended their lead to double digits, ending the first quarter with a commanding 41-21 advantage. In the second quarter, Beijing managed to spark a 10-0 run, but Xinjiang stabilized their lead through a combination of inside plays and outside shooting, concluding the half with a score of 69-49 in their favor.

In the second half, Beijing made a strong push to narrow the gap to around ten points. Xinjiang’s foreign player, Lawson, stepped up by scoring ten consecutive points, helping the team maintain their edge. By the end of the third quarter, Xinjiang was ahead 94-87. The final quarter was tightly contested, with both teams tied at 105 at one point. In the closing moments, Lawson’s four successful free throws sealed the win for Xinjiang as they triumphed 114-111.

Lawson’s standout performance included 34 points and 12 rebounds, while Peterson contributed 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. Qi Lin added 17 points, and Wu Guanchi and Heigens both had solid contributions as well. On the other side, Beijing’s Trelix scored 25 points with 9 assists, while Riller added 22 points and Shen Zijie posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

After the game, Beijing’s head coach Min Lulei emphasized his players’ dedication to delivering an entertaining match for their fans. Player Shen Zijie noted that although their initial strategy fell short, the team’s ability to recover from a 20-point deficit and even take the lead demonstrated their capabilities.

Xinjiang’s coach Liu Wei reflected on the game’s ups and downs, acknowledging their offensive strengths but highlighting some lapses in defense. He recognized Beijing as a formidable opponent, calling this confrontation a significant test and promised to address the issues revealed during the match.

With this victory, Xinjiang has now achieved a three-game home winning streak, placing them second in the standings. Upcoming fixtures will see them on the road to face Guangdong Dongyangguang and Beijing Beiqi.
