Dior boutique in Union Square was brutally broken into and robbed by car_1

In a recent incident, the Christian Dior store in Union Square, San Francisco, was hit by a brazen robbery for the second time within a year. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, on October 11, at approximately 2:42 AM, thieves drove a vehicle through the store’s front door, making off with an undisclosed amount of luxury goods.

San Francisco Police Department reported that while patrolling near Post Street, officers noticed three cars speeding away from the recently robbed boutique. Although the police attempted to pursue one of the vehicles, they opted to end the chase due to the car speeding through a red light, creating potential danger to the public.

Upon entering the store for inspection, authorities confirmed that the suspects had parked two vehicles in front of the building and used a third to smash open the entrance, escaping with various items. Police Chief Bill Scott condemned the “bold criminal acts” in the city, stating that investigators have many leads based on extensive available evidence, including surveillance footage and automatic license plate recognition technology.

This isn’t the first time the Dior store has faced such an ordeal; a similar robbery occurred last October when perpetrators broke through the door and smashed display cases to steal merchandise. Witnesses reported that three vehicles were also involved in that incident, leading to the arrest of two suspects trying to flee.

Union Square has seen significant criminal activity in recent years, notably in November 2021, when a massive burglary ring struck high-end stores including Louis Vuitton and Burberry, as well as prestigious department stores like Bloomingdale’s and Maxford’s Jewelry. Police successfully intervened in attempted break-ins at Fendi and Hermès, resulting in the arrest of eight young individuals.

The police are urging anyone with information regarding the October 11 robbery to call 415-575-4444 or text TIP411, starting the message with “SFPD.”
