The Brazilian Chinese Association celebrates the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the inauguration of the 23rd Board of Directors and Supervisors

On the evening of September 28, the Brazilian Chinese Association officially inaugurated its 23rd board of directors in São Paulo, marking a dual celebration of the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 3rd Chinese Cultural Immigration Day.

The event attracted several prominent guests, including Yu Peng, the Consul General of the Chinese Consulate in São Paulo; Deputy Consul General Tian Yuzhen; Rong Qiang, the Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office; Consul Li Xiaoming; former President of the Brazilian Chinese Association Zhu Suzhong; Fabio Manzini, Chief Representative of the Brazilian Presidential Palace’s Institutional Relations Department in São Paulo; and Maurici, a representative from the São Paulo State Assembly’s International Affairs Committee.

In his address, newly elected President Ye Zhouyong, along with Supervisory Chairman Wang Wanrui and Secretary-General Jiang Youyang, vowed to honor the esteemed traditions of patriotism and dedication to their homeland. He underscored their commitment to uniting the Chinese community, serving local residents, and fostering the growth of friendly relations between China and Brazil.

Fabio Manzini spoke about the significant strengthening of ties between the two nations over the last 50 years and expressed optimism for further collaboration and a promising future.

Yu Peng congratulated the new board members, recognizing the progress made in Sino-Brazilian relations rooted in mutual respect and cooperation. He highlighted the essential role of the overseas Chinese community in nurturing these connections and reiterated China’s commitment to providing stability and partnerships amidst global uncertainties.

The ceremony concluded with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, which included participation from distinguished guests like Yu Peng, Tian Yuzhen, Ye Zhouyong, Wang Wanrui, Fabio Manzini, and representatives from the São Paulo State Assembly.

Attendees also enjoyed captivating performances from the São Paulo Huaxing Art Troupe and the Brazilian Tangyun Art Troupe, infusing the celebrations with vibrant cultural expressions.
