On October 3rd, during the third day of the National Day holiday, China Central Television reported a surge in tourism across Sichuan province, with around 6.54 million visitors visiting 890 rated attractions by 3:00 PM. This represents a substantial year-over-year increase of 21.81%.

Popular hotspots such as Jiuzhaigou Valley, Mount Emei, the Jianmen Pass Scenic Area, the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, Mount Qingcheng and Dujiangyan Scenic Area, Sanxingdui Museum, and the ancient town of Lizhuang in Yibin hit their daily visitor limits. Jiuzhaigou Valley has seen particularly high demand, with its advance tickets—4.1 million per day—selling out through October 5th.

Moving over to Shaanxi, the cultural scene has also drawn impressive crowds, with participation soaring by 118.91%. As of October 3rd, 51 key tourist sites in the province reported strong visitor figures, including top attractions like Yuanjia Village in Xianyang, the Zhonghua Jun Cultural Tourism Area in Weinan, revolutionary memorials in Yan’an, Qinyuan Lake’s Qixi Park, and the Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum Museum.

Additionally, Shaanxi has organized 163 cultural events this year, marking a 16.15% increase from last year, which benefited over 576,000 participants—a remarkable jump of 118.91%.

For many, this holiday also serves as a chance to dive into literature. The Shaanxi Provincial Library reported visitor numbers of 12,109, 11,836, and 12,024 for the first three days, reflecting year-on-year increases of 76%, 45%, and 51%.

In Yunnan, Lijiang Ancient City has become a favored spot for tourists. According to the provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Lijiang attracted 444,342 visitors during the first two days of the National Day holiday, thanks to its stunning ancient architecture, rich cultural heritage, and vibrant ethnic atmosphere.

Other popular attractions in Yunnan included the Xishan Scenic Area at Dianchi Lake, the Kunming World Horticultural Expo Garden, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the Stone Forest in Kunming, Manting Park in Xishuangbanna, Mili Dongfengyun Town, Tiger Leaping Gorge in Diqing, Wild Elephant Valley in Xishuangbanna, and the ancient town of Heshun in Tengchong.
