Foreign businessmen from 56 countries and regions gathered in Anping, the -Wire Mesh Capital of China-, to look for business opportunities

The 2024 Anping International Wire Mesh Expo kicked off today, October 22, in Anping County, Hebei Province, known as the “Silk Screen Capital of China.” Over 40,000 business representatives gathered to explore collaboration opportunities, including more than 520 foreign merchants from 56 countries and regions.

As China’s largest wire mesh production and sales hub, Anping is home to over 13,000 wire mesh enterprises, boasting an impressive industry cluster output value of 100.6 billion yuan in 2023. The wire mesh industry here has a rich history, originating in the Ming Dynasty and evolving over more than 500 years. Its products are exported to more than 190 countries and regions, accounting for over 80% of China’s exports. Notable structures that feature Anping wire mesh include the Bird’s Nest in Beijing and the Golden Bowl, the main stadium for the Qatar World Cup.

At the expo, a Moroccan buyer named Heba Bagof procured stainless steel wire with a diameter of 0.3 millimeters. This is her second time attending the event, and she expressed her admiration for the quality of Chinese products, hoping to continue collaboration with Chinese companies.

“Some of the wire mesh products showcased here, in terms of both design and performance, have reached international leading levels,” said Francisco Gabriel Nogla from Argentina. He was particularly impressed by the high-strength, corrosion-resistant metal woven nets and many innovative filtration products on display. “I hope to find more competitive suppliers and explore collaboration opportunities.”

The Anping International Wire Mesh Expo is the only professional wire mesh exhibition in the world, and it has successfully hosted 23 editions. This year’s exhibition features around 40 new products, new equipment, new processes, and new materials. On the first day alone, a total of 560 procurement and intention orders were reached, amounting to 1.16 billion yuan, alongside the signing of eight key projects with a total investment of 6.28 billion yuan.
