Focusing on the reform of basic education, Tsinghua High School held an annual academic meeting to celebrate the 109th anniversary of the founding of the school
On October 23, a reporter from China News Service learned that Tsinghua University High School recently held its 109th anniversary academic conference. Experts, school administrators, frontline teachers, and parents gathered to discuss “deepening the comprehensive reform of education to enhance governance capabilities in basic education,” exploring new pathways for reform in basic education.
Fang Yan, the principal of Tsinghua University High School, highlighted the school’s commitment to creating an “appropriate governance system and developing adaptive governance capabilities.” She emphasized that the school aims to establish a new governance framework that empowers the transformation and development of basic education. She stated that Tsinghua University High School is focusing on several key areas, including the teaching staff, curriculum, educational models, governance structures, institutional systems, cultural offerings, and technology integration. The school is fostering a sense of community to drive governance reform, enhancing vitality and motivation, aiming to unlock the key to the “new model of Tsinghua University High School” through the unity of knowledge and action.
In the lead-up to the school’s anniversary celebration, the school also unveiled its motto stone. The academic conference featured five parallel forums where participants exchanged ideas on topics such as “Identifying and Nurturing Exceptional Innovative Talents in Basic Education,” “Enhancing School Governance Capabilities through Digital Technology,” “Synergy in Education: Collaboration among Schools, Families, and Communities for Student Well-Being,” “Leading Teacher Development through the Spirit of Education,” and “Empowering Quality and Balanced School Development through Educational Support.”
