Jingshan Park creates a cultural tour during the National Day holiday, and ancient buildings are illuminated and transformed into a night tour space

In an exclusive interview, a spokesperson from Jingshan Park shared details about the exciting activities lined up for this year’s National Day celebrations. “We’ve really gone all out this year,” they said, highlighting the park’s lively atmosphere that merges traditional culture with contemporary art.

To mark the occasion, the park has been beautifully decorated. The three main entrances showcase an impressive display of national flags and festive lanterns, with over 600 lanterns lighting up the grounds. The “National Day” signage at the south entrance adds to the celebratory vibe, while the main path at the back of the park features a stunning “Heavenly Fragrance Prosperity” cultural corridor. Visitors can enjoy a delightful stroll amidst thousands of colorful peony umbrellas that blend seamlessly with artistic structures.

Two remarkable flowerbeds in the park are particularly eye-catching. The “Blooming Prosperity” flowerbed at the East Gate highlights traditional Chinese motifs—blooming peonies, good luck symbols, and clouds—paired with majestic mountains and cranes. This display not only encapsulates the beauty of autumn but also symbolizes wealth and peace. Meanwhile, in front of the Qiwang Tower, the “Scenery Like a Painting” exhibition presents an intricate landscape bonsai, utilizing layering techniques to depict rugged cliffs, hills, and valleys. The clever use of small stones to represent rivers, alongside potted miniatures of local trees, creates a lush scene that pays homage to the country’s stunning landscapes.

The park will also host a variety of artistic displays in its exhibition spaces during National Day. The Guande Hall and Qiwang Tower will co-host the “Loyal Heart Casts Soul” sculpture exhibition, featuring modern sculptural art. Visitors can explore a photo exhibit called “Capturing the Old Charm of the Capital along the Grand Canal,” which showcases the historical and cultural ties between Beijing and the Grand Canal through captivating imagery. Additionally, the Science Popularization Hut will present the “Blossoming Wealth” greenhouse floral exhibition, featuring around 200 square meters of seasonal plants along with educational displays about plant science.

The excitement doesn’t stop there. Ten engaging science activities will delve into topics ranging from plant and animal education to historical culture. In addition, ten dance performances will honor ethnic diversity, while the west area will offer a unique showcase of intangible cultural heritage projects.

As night approaches, the park will come alive with lighting across various areas, including the East and South Gates, scenic spots, and historic architecture, creating a magical ambiance for evening visitors.

On the public services front, two temporary restrooms have been added, with an emphasis on increasing the number of women’s stalls to ensure shorter wait times. The park has also installed 244 permanent trash bins and an additional 50 temporary ones to encourage waste sorting and maintain cleanliness. Notably, the visitor center and exhibition areas will extend their opening hours until 7 PM, inviting more guests to immerse themselves in the rich history and culture after dark.
