Cristiano Ronaldo scores his 900th career goal as Portugal defeats Croatia

Cristiano Ronaldo made history on September 5th during the UEFA Nations League match in Lisbon, scoring his remarkable 900th career goal, leading Portugal to a 2-1 victory over Croatia.

According to reports from Central News Agency, the match saw Ronaldo find the net in the 34th minute following a pass from Nuno Mendes, marking a significant milestone in his legendary career.

The 39-year-old celebrated the goal with great excitement, as it was his 131st goal representing Portugal. Notably, half of his goals were scored while he was with Real Madrid, while the rest came from his time at Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, and Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Diogo Dalot opened the scoring for Portugal early in the match, putting them ahead 1-0, before Ronaldo doubled the lead with his milestone goal. However, just before halftime, Dalot unfortunately scored an own goal, allowing Croatia to narrow the gap to 2-1.

In this edition of the UEFA Nations League, Portugal, Croatia, Poland, and Scotland constitute Group A1. Portugal will face Scotland next on September 8th in Lisbon.
